The Traitors: Faithfuls call latest challenge 'hell' as BBC show takes inspiration from I'm A Celebrity's bush tucker trials with a brutal underground mission

Friday night was another challenge in this series of The Traitors and this time it was in an abandoned, dilapidated cabin in the woods.

As the participants approached the wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere, which exuded a “creepy vibe,” Ross exclaimed, “This looks a little rough, guys.”

Claudia Winkleman, host of the show, told the players that their mission was quite simple: “You have to go in there, find the gold and escape within 30 minutes.”

Although she told them that £1,000 would be deducted from the prize pool for each player who did not escape within half an hour, she did not tell them what surprises lay in wait for them.

The players soon discovered that half of them would search underground in a tunnel, while the other half would be in a hut that would communicate the route via a radio.

As he entered the tunnel, Harry said: 'It was like a deep, dark cave and I'm a bit claustrophobic. If you think about it, it's one of those itches all over your body.'

Ross then added that it looked “very dark and very damp.” The son of fan favorite Dianne, who was murdered after drinking from the poisoned chalice, was in charge of lighting the tunnel.

As he held the switches from the cabin, the tunnel lit up, but the cabin went dark. As soon as he let go, the hut where the instructions and map were located would light up and the tunnel would descend into darkness.

However, every time the lights went out, the contestants were confronted by some unwanted visitors, which Ross later said “immediately scared the hell out of me.”

As the tunnellers scrambled through the backfield, tasked with tricky puzzles to complete to find the gold, they encountered rotten fruit, icy water and centipedes.

The players clearly struggled with the Bushtucker-type task from ITV's I'm A Celeb and gagged, retched and sputtered as they tried to complete it.

Jazz described the smell “like sickness and poop mixed together” and Jasmine said, “It was just hell in there.”

Later in the episode, Jazz switched places with Andrew in the tunnel after the Welshman had to get out.

He said: 'I'm a big guy and it was claustrophobic down there. I may look scary because of my scars and I may growl when I frown, but deep down, once you get to know me, I'm basically a big teddy bear.'

It comes as Harry's girlfriend Anna Maynard admitted she will 'never trust him again' after the shocking scenes in which Harry threw fellow traitor Paul under the bus during an explosive roundtable on Thursday night.

In her Stories, singer Conor Maynard's sister said: 'I think we need to discuss that episode, don't we?

“Um, if anyone wants an unfaithful, disloyal, dishonest, traitor as a boyfriend, then be my guest.

'I'm putting it up for sale. I don't need that energy in my life. My perception just changed. I'm sure there will be a lot of you there, I'm sure.'
