FANS cry they have “nothing left” as a football club store launches a closure sale.

The ex-Premier League club announced they would be closing up shop in September, with the doors closing for the final time on March 6.

Now all items are being reduced to under £5 as part of a sale ahead of the store's closing date next month. StokeonTrentLive reports.

Stoke City said the club's store at the Potteries Center is closing for “commercial reasons”.

It comes 18 years after the store first opened in 2006, but is the latest to leave the shopping center along with Poundland, Superdry and Debenhams in recent years.

The club shop at Stoke's bet365 Stadium remains open, while fans can also continue to purchase merchandise online.

Chief Operating Officer Simon King said in September: “The vast majority of our retail business already takes place at bet365 Stadium and online.

“It makes commercial sense to place our full focus on the outlets that develop in the future, albeit with flexibility for temporary pop-up ventures where there is a coherent case for doing so in the future.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused to those who prefer to purchase their Stoke City merchandise from the city center store and hope that the combination of the stadium store and retail website will ensure that no one has to be left out.”

It comes as Stoke last month appointed former Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher as the club's new manager.

Meanwhile, a former Premier League star woke up jobless after his contract at Stoke was torn up this week.

Dwight Gayle is said to have terminated his contract with The Potters.
