Sausage roll fans upset as bakery announces weeks-long store closure

Sausage roll fanatics are left desperate as a much-loved bakery announces its temporary closure.

The spot is known as the home of sandwiches, pasties and vegan sausage rolls, but shoppers will now have to look elsewhere for their savory snacks.

Locals have flocked to Facebook to share their reactions to the news, with one person now having to change their routine.

One commenter tagged a friend and wrote: “That’s your daily visit out the window now.”

While another said: “Oh no!!…how are we supposed to survive.”

However, a third was unimpressed: “Doesn’t matter, very expensive for donuts or sausage rolls now, better go to a fancier cafe.”

Greggs in High Street, Cheltenham, will close on March 16 for renovations.

Six weeks later, it will welcome customers back on Friday, April 26.

It comes as shoppers werehas been stripped after Marks and Spencer announced it was closing one of its branches for good.

The chic store has 405 stores across the country and is an important part of the shopping streets.

Last year, M&S announced that it would permanently close ten stores and relocate more stores.

It is part of the retailer’s plans to create more flagship M&S stores and food halls across the UK.

M&S will now close its home store in Kingsditch Trading Estate in Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham, in April.

And shoppers are crying: ‘The high street is dying’ as a coffee chain prepares to close a branch in an iconic department store.

Cavendish House, which opened more than 200 years ago, will welcome customers for the last time in mid-April.

The House of Fraser department store and the Clarins Spa within it will close permanently.

News that the House of Fraser branch is to close has already been met with devastation by local shoppers.

One branded the closure a ‘great shame’, while another said it meant the ‘high street is dying’.

But the closure of Cavendish House also means the Cafe Neroat House of Fraser department store, will also close for good.
