Finn Wolfhard spills details as he continues filming Stranger things‘Season 5.

“We’re about three months into it now and it’s really crazy,” the 21-year-old actor revealed in an interview on Wednesday, March 13 with The Hollywood Reporter.

Wolfhard added that unlike season 4, which saw the cast separated for most storylines, the final season will be something completely different.

“It was definitely a shame not to be around everyone all the time, but 5 is the opposite,” he noted. “We’re all together all the time, and some of us live around the corner and across the street in real life. So the cast actually sees each other a lot, and we’re in a lot of the same scenes, which was really great.

After six years at Netflix, Stranger Things is getting ready to conclude its journey with a fifth and final season. Ahead of the show’s highly anticipated season 4 premiere, creators Matt and Ross Duffer announced they were ending the series after another chapter in Hawkins, Indiana. “We made plans seven years ago […]

As for his character, Mike Wheeler, Wolfhard made it clear that there are some big moments fans can look forward to once the series finally releases.

“This final season is kind of a crossroads, and so we’re getting back into the dynamics of season one, which is a lot of fun,” he continued. “Over there [are] some ‘leader Mike’ moments, and it’s clearly a very big season. Every season has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, and this season is huge, but it’s also a bit isolated. So it’s a lot of fun and I’m really excited for people to see it.”

Season 5 of Stranger things Filming was originally scheduled to begin in May 2023. However, due to the Hollywood strikes, production was postponed until January. Wolfhard told the outlet that he’s okay with the show taking a little longer to wrap up — and is just grateful to be part of the cast at all.

“I’m certainly not frustrated. It is what it is,” he said. “You spend so much time on a show that it’s all-encompassing, and it’s something that means so much to me. It’s what made my career, and it really shaped my life. So as far as the show not coming out yet, the only frustrating part is wanting to see it and having to wait. I just want people to see it and I want to be able to see it. But the rest? No. I am indebted Stranger things, and it will last, however long it will take. You have no control over that, so you might as well drive it.”

While Wolfhard is happy to be back on set with his co-stars, the reality of the end of the series hits harder now that filming has begun.

“You’re thinking about how to be as present as possible, but at the same time you’re conflicted that this is the last one,” he said. “So I’m trying to find the balance between staying present and at the same time knowing that this will be the last season. But it was great.”

Wolfhard was called in Stranger things at just 13 years old. Set in the 1980s, the science fiction sensation is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, which is plagued by a hostile alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.
