An astonishing moment occurred when two seasoned fishermen reeled in a huge great white shark after an 11-hour wait for a bite on a Florida beach.

Blaine Kenny and Dylan Wier of Coastal Worldwide had a heartbreaking moment when a huge great white shark, estimated at a whopping 11 feet long, took the bait from the beach.

The duo, who had set up a camera and two baited fishing rods the night before, waited patiently for 11 hours on the shores of Navarre Beach, Florida.

Overcome with disbelief and excitement, the two young men are captured holding their heads and catching their breath as the enormous creature leaps out of the water.

“There's a clip in the video where we were like, 'What is this, what's going on,'” said Wier, who described the awe-inspiring encounter in an interview with Fox.

“We put out two rods – and then at 8am the next day – came the first run and the only run of the time. And then we got together,” Kenny recalled.

Kenny and Wier sent a drone to identify what they had seen, but neither anticipated the breathtaking scene that awaited them in the next hour.

“Nothing was super, super fast – and you just felt the true power of this fish behind us,” Kenny said.

In the video, you can see him casually turning the reel as he said, “I'm also wondering if he's actually getting shut down or if he's moving southeast.”

“Dude, he just jumped… He just jumped,” he exclaimed, pointing to where he'd set the hook.

“After about four minutes, Blaine saw him jump completely, not geo, but completely out of the water,” Wier later explained.

“And at that moment there are two sharks in the ocean that can do that: it's a mango and a great white shark,” he added.

After the brief sighting, they followed a nearly hour-long battle with the enormous shark, accompanied by moments of panic and fear when they thought they had managed to escape.

'I don't know if he's still there. There was no major letdown,” said Kenny, to which Wier responded with disappointment: “No!”

“Maybe he's just poking around,” Kenny said. But the fisherman did not give up as he continued to spin the reel, breathing heavily.

Luckily they soon found out he was still on the line, as someone said, 'he's still there, he's still there.'

“Complete break, no blow, complete break,” Kenny said excitedly, taking a moment to relax but still holding the reel tightly.

After a 45-minute battle, they were finally able to positively identify the creature based on the drone video.

“Look, that's a great white shark,” Wier said.

“Look at this thing… Look at this thing… Look at that thing. Oh my god, dude, that's a fucking monster,” Kenny said.

The two fishermen released the tow and approached the water as they determined it was a female shark, estimated to be as long as 12 feet.

“We know this is a big shark, we have to get it in as quickly as possible,” Wier said as the camera continued to roll.

“This is the day Blaine has been dreaming about since he dropped his first crazy ace man. Oh my god,” Wier added.

Kenny said as he dragged the shark tail through the water, “I've said it before about so many different fish, but really…words can't describe the feeling of this fish right here.”

Great white sharks have previously been tracked or spotted along the coasts of Florida, which is considered the shark bite capital of the world after dozens of unprovoked attacks were reported in recent years.

The white shark is one of the most protected sharks and best studied species worldwide. Kenny and Wier weren't even allowed to measure the great white shark they caught.

'People will see in this video: this great white was a gentle giant! She just swam away quietly and that was it,” Kenny said.

“Basically our whole mission is to give guys who love fishing and love what we do full-time, the best possible place in the house for them, without bringing them directly with us,” Wier said.
