There will be a number of channel launches and closures on Freeview in March.

Unfortunately, two channels will be leaving the service very soon.

But it’s not all bad news, as there are some brand new stations to fill their space.

Stay up to date with the latest Freeview changes so you don’t miss your favorite shows.

Especially since channel numbers sometimes change and you may need to retune your box.

Here’s the full list of movers and shakers on Freeview for March.

FREEVIEW CHANNEL LAUNCH

A new channel is launching on Freeview this month.

The station is called AWESOME! Real, which will focus on real-life programs.

The program includes shows such as Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport, Paddington Station 24/7, Island Medics, Emergency Rescue: Air, Land and Sea; and Coast Guard Alaska.

Young children’s channel Tiny POP is going digital-only, so it won’t be available as a traditional linear TV channel on platforms such as Freeview – the move also affects viewers on Virgin Media, Sky and Freesat.

Luckily you can still access it for free via one of the following internet services – and if you have Freeview Play you can watch on-demand with the POP Player on channel 212.

  • YouTube
  • POP player

The other channel to disappear this month is SportyStuff TV, which fans are calling “sad” and “another nail in the coffin.”

Bosses said “external circumstances beyond our control” have forced them to ax the channel after 12 years on air.

Freeview channels to close in March

Mark your calendars for the two canal closures that will take place in March:

FREEVIEW CHANNEL CHANGES

There’s only one notable channel change on Freeview this month and that’s due to the launch of GREAT! Real.

AWESOME! Real will land on Freeview number 61, which is currently occupied by GREAT! movies extra.

AWESOME! Movies Extra is a streaming channel and it is not yet clear where it will be moved on Freeview or if it will be removed completely as a result.
