A BRAND NEW TV channel is about to grace the screens of millions of Freeview and Sky viewers at no extra cost.

Following a channel cull on Freesat earlier this month, Narrative Entertainment is expanding its GREAT! Network with a new free station.

“With a range of observational series focusing on dramatic real-life events and human stories, GREAT! Real will take audiences into the heart of the action with an exciting, engaging and relatable content mix that fits perfectly with our existing brands,” says Steve Hornsey, Narrative Entertainment’s VP Movies & Entertainment said in the announcement.

Arrival at the end of March, AMAZING! Real becomes the first channel in the GREAT! Network to broadcast only unscripted content.

Shows will include Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport; Paddington Station 24/7; Island Medics; Emergency assistance: air, land and sea; and Coast Guard Alaska.

The exact date it will be launched is March 20.

The network is known for its lineup of daytime TV classics and fan-favorite movies such as Murder, She Wrote, M*A*S*H and The Avengers.

Just a few weeks ago, the broadcaster canceled nine channels for Freesat viewers, including six GREAT! branded channels and three POP channels.

Narrative Entertainment did not explain why the channels disappeared for Freesat viewers, and not for Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media customers.

However, it appears the broadcaster is continuing to mature its offering for Freeview and Sky customers.

Free TV Apps

Last year, Narrative Entertainment entered the on-demand streaming space with the red button AWESOME! Player.

The big! Player hosts numerous free ad-supported television channels (FAST) for viewers who have left paid streaming apps.
