Girl, 9, dies at California dirt bike track after being struck by another child riding one of the powerful motorcycles

A nine-year-old girl has died in a ‘freak’ dirt bike accident on a California race track after she was hit by another child riding a motorcycle.

Brooke Carlton, 9, was riding an electric motorcycle at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park when she was struck Sunday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station and Cal Fire deputies responded to the scene and found good Samaritans performing lifesaving measures on an unconscious Brooke after she was struck by another child in a lane designated for all-terrain vehicles.

She was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, where she died later that day.

“Our entire family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we are confident that God needed her and called her home to be with him.”

Police said the other child was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Her father Jason runs a personal watercraft and UTV racing parts company and has 30 years of experience in powersports racing.
