Missing toddler is found dead in a Geelong dam after disappearing from his home

A toddler who went missing from his home has died after being found unconscious in a dam.

The little boy went missing from his home in Lara, a town about 18 kilometers northeast of Geelong, Victoria, at 5.20pm on Tuesday.

A massive search was launched for the boy, involving officers on foot and assistance from the police air force.

The toddler was tragically found unconscious in a dam near Windermere Road.

Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the boy could not be saved and he died at the scene.
