Grampians search: Urgent appeal for help finding missing hiker who disappeared after reaching the summit of Pinnacle Point near Halls Gap

Emergency services are desperately searching for a young hiker who has gone missing in a popular national park.
Jack, who went hiking in the Grampians National Park, about three hours northwest of Melbourne, was last seen at 7.15pm on Wednesday.
Police are extremely concerned for the welfare of the 20-year-old who last spoke to his family via video call after reaching the summit of Pinnacle Point near Halls Gap.
He has not been seen or heard from since he went missing.
His family have launched an urgent appeal to help with the search and rescue effort for Jack, who lives with autism.
Emergency services are desperately searching for a young hiker who has gone missing in a popular national park.
Jack’s mother Katrina Baulch has appealed to everyone in the area to help locate her son.
“Jack walked across the Pinnacle in Halls Gap late yesterday and has not returned,” Mrs Baulch told the newspaper. Herald Sun.
‘He has been unreachable since 7.30 pm’
Jack also has very limited equipment to help him manage the weather and conditions in the park’s rugged terrain.
Search and rescue efforts are in full swing and emergency services, including Victoria Police, SES Volunteers and the Air Wing, are working to find Jack.
Jack’s vehicle was found on School Road, yards from Halls Gap.

Jack is described as 175cm tall, of slim build and has brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, spotted blue shorts and a brown-brimmed hat.
He also wore a pair of black shoes.
Pinnacle point is an iconic trail and viewpoint visited by locals and tourists.
Visitors are treated to stunning views of Halls Gap and some of the peaks of the Grampians National Park.
The walk from Halls Gap Caravan Park to Pinnacle Point is 6 miles and takes five hours.
Jack’s vehicle is parked several meters away from the caravan park.
