A devastated fiancée discovered the love of his life had died in a car crash after receiving an alert on his mobile phone.

Taneasha Steer, 25, was killed on Monday evening when the Mitsubishi station wagon she was driving crashed into a tree on Marrabell Road in Allendale, about an hour north of Adelaide.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and found the car in the ditch.

Mrs Steer, mother of an 18-month-old boy, was the sole occupant of the car and died at the scene.

Her fiancé Luke Andrews rushed to the crash site after receiving an automatic collision alert sent to his mobile phone.

Mr Andrews expressed his sadness in an emotional post on social media after the tragedy.

“I love you forever my beautiful girl,” he wrote alongside a photo of their family.

Mrs Steer’s grandmother Christine Mcdonagh broke the news of her granddaughter’s death on Facebook.

“It is with the deepest heart that I write this,” she wrote.

‘Our beautiful, beloved granddaughter Taneasha was killed in a car accident on Monday evening at 6:30 pm.

‘Taken so young, our hearts will be broken forever. We love you, darling, forever and ever.”

Mrs Mcdonagh said the family were ‘in shock and disbelief’ and ‘incredibly heartbroken’.

‘We are all so lost. Shattered into a million pieces,” she said.

Ms Steer’s father, David, also spoke of his pain and said he was looking forward to his daughter’s wedding.

“I think I slept maybe three hours last night… because I’m crying so hard… and just crying so hard,” he told 7News.

“I was so looking forward to walking her down the aisle.”

Tributes to Ms Steer flooded social media, who was described as ‘loved by many’.

‘My heart is broken and I feel very empty. What a terrible world we live in,” one friend wrote.

“I’m in such disbelief that another beautiful soul has been taken way too soon,” said another.

‘Rest in peace Taneasha Steer, thanks for the laughs and always up for a chat. You were loved by many.”

a GoFundMe My initiative, set up by Mr Andrews’ brother Brayden, has raised over $16,000 to date.

Brayden said Andrews was called to the scene of the crash at 6.30pm on Monday to be told his partner had been killed.

‘I would like to share this to help my brother with childcare costs and give him time off from work so he can spend time with [his] 18 month old baby Tatum,” he wrote on the page.

“To all who knew, she was always the life of the party and brought so much joy to countless lives.”

South Australian Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the horrific crash, with major crash investigators currently investigating the case.

Ms Steer is the 107th fatality on South Australian roads in 2023, compared to 66 deaths on the state’s roads this time last year.
