THERE HAS always been an unspoken rivalry between B&M and Home Bargains.
But now one shopper has insisted the latter has dramatically upped their game, with stunning, ‘quality’ items at great prices.
She took to TikTok to get a video of her visit to Home Bargains, as she said she was stunned to see how much the store has improved in such a short time.
“I haven’t been to Home Bargains for so long, but I wanted to show you a few pieces because I was really surprised,” she said.
“It really freshened itself up!”
First of all, mirrors.
“Look at these mirrors!” she gushed.
“I actually bought the gold one. The gold one is super nice.
“We looked at these and elsewhere they cost around £70.”
She then showed the price tags of the mirrors, ranging from £12.99 to £14.99.
“They look quite small there, but in real life they are very big,” she added.
She then looked at the vases on offer, including the £5.99 ribbed vase that is doing the rounds on social media.
“They have beautiful vases and they are so cheap!” she said.
“And they are very heavy, really good quality.”
She also picked up four of the glass mugs that everyone is loving, for just over £5 as they cost £1.29 each.
“I mean, you can’t go wrong!” she gushed.
“And again, very nice quality, very nice and heavy, I love them!”
She also called Home Bargains ‘a real tidy up’ as she checked out the Easter items on offer, including cute bunny cuddly toys for just £3.99 each.
Next up was the fake plant aisle, as she admitted she had no idea such a thing existed in Home Bargains.
“Look, they’re absolutely huge,” she said of £19.99 options.
‘They’re as big as me!
“And £20! You won’t get this for £20 anywhere else!”
She then moved on to the kitchenware as she admired the Tom Kitchin range.
“I’ve never heard of Tom Kitchin but honestly the quality of his stuff is so good,” she said as she held up a wooden cutting board for just £6.99.
She ended her trip with a look at the candles, because she said she “couldn’t resist” a decent candle.
“Go to house bargains!” she was delighted.
“What happened to Home Bargains??? They upped their game a bit,” she captioned her video.
And people in the comments section were quick to agree.
“Home Bargains are cheaper and better than B&M,” one person wrote.
“Today I’m going to Home Bargains. I don’t know what I want, but I’ll know when I find it,” joked another.
To which the woman replied: “Yes, it is a bit like that!
“I went in just to get out of the rain and bought a mirror, glass mugs and some candles, oh and some coconut milk!”
