Decorating your home doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.
An interior designer shared her top tips for finding custom items on a budget.
In her videoBrianna Via (@brialiving) told her followers what she believes ‘you shouldn’t spend money on when renovating a house’.
For her first hack, the TikToker advised her audience to look for mirror sheets at local businesses that supply bathrooms or gyms.
“They always have these huge sheets, this one is almost ten feet long and I bought it for $300. It’s stuck to the wall so it’s pet and Roomba friendly,” she said as she showed viewers her mirror showed in the living room.
“You can adjust the frames or even make them into fun shapes, like I did for this bathroom.”
For her next home decorating suggestion, Brianna explained that she used the same logic for furniture and asked a local wood shop to make her coffee table.
“Take a photo and ask for a quote,” she told her followers.
For her next tip, Brianna recommended buying curtains and blinds online.
“I think Amazon has great options, they have blackout, transparent options, they’re all great,” she said.
“[They have] quite affordable ones, they are also easy to install, but just super annoying to measure, keep that in mind.”
Brianna also used her leftover bathroom tiles to create decorative trays.
Finally, she shared some of her budget-friendly advice when shopping for rugs.
“You can also get giant rugs for cheap, this is from Walmart, it was $100,” she told her viewers.
“This 13-foot rug was on sale for about $200, but it is very thin, so I recommend a rug to make it soft and feel like luxury.
“Another option is to take two smaller rugs and place them on top of each other.”
Her followers shared their thoughts on the hacks in the comments section.
“Leftover tiles as trays are super cute and unique,” wrote one impressed viewer.
“Genius! Everything saved, thank you!” said another TikTok user.
“We love the bougie villain with a budget feel!” a third person commented.
