According to the money-conscious parent – who also recently wowed fans with a £60 bathroom glow-up – even she couldn’t believe the makeover cost her so little.

As shared in the video on the popular platform, the stairs were initially covered with an old gray carpet, which Crystal decided to get rid of.

But instead of simply replacing the existing gray carpet with a brand new one, the do-it-yourselfer came up with an idea.

Once the old carpet was removed, Crystal painted the wooden stair floor below in a beautiful white color, also transforming the walls on the side.

When she was done, the mom explained in the comments, she applied strips of the new runner on top, while also letting some of the white shine through.

”I made it from a cut-out piece of carpet for £9 from my local carpet shop!

“I cut it into strips and then glued some black string to the edges,” Crystal wrote in the comments.

”Stair runner on a limited budget? Yes please,” she added in the caption.

The end result was stunning as fans of the makeover flocked to the comments to praise the crafty mum-of-two.

One chuckled and wondered if Crystal would also be willing to help with their DIY renovations.

‘Perfect for a neutral home,’ says the Home Bargain shopper as she tracks down the viral £19.99 concrete lamps in store

“Please come help me with my house.”

Another couldn’t believe the difference between Before and After, writing: “Looks amazing.”

“Thanks, looks fantastic,” someone else chimed in.

“Beautiful,” added a fourth.

Do you feel inspired to get creative? We recently wrote about a woman who transformed her ‘boring’ hallway thanks to a simple €5 purchase from IKEA.

Amazon fan Anna from Great Britain has proven that you don’t always have to spend thousands of dollars when it comes to a home makeover. Sometimes you can achieve amazing results even on a limited budget.

Instead of adding wooden panels to the wall or painting it a new color, Anna decided to stick on square mirrors she bought from IKEA.

According to Anna, the total cost was around £50, and the process was quite simple too.

The first step, she demonstrated in the video, was to measure the white wall and create a large rectangular shape in the center of it using tape.

She then went over it with a dark blue paint and began planning the placement of the mirror, following a 2cm guide and a spirit level.

“Measuring, marking and leveling as I go – this is so important to make sure the entire mirror is level,” the DIY expert noted in the video.

“The best advice is to start at the top and work your way down,” Anna warned.

”I completely messed up my measurements and there wasn’t even a 2cm gap between them.

”I ended up having to repaint part of the top of the block white – and it would have been so much easier to do this on the bottom than on the top.”

Despite the mini-blunder, the glow from the wall was stunning, as fellow interior design fans rushed to praise Anna.

One said: ‘Looks great. Also love the honesty that things didn’t go so well at first. It makes the experience more realistic for us.”

“Yes, I’m going to try it, it looks delicious,” said another.
