This is the chilling moment when a homeless robber followed a 73-year-old grandmother and her granddaughter to their home and violently threw them onto the street in an “attempted kidnapping” that has shocked France.

The elderly woman and seven-year-old were dragged from their home and placed on the doorstep by the assailant who had wedged his foot in the door before sneaking in and grabbing his victims.

The child can then be seen running back to her terrified grandmother, as the family’s dog appears at the door, which prosecutors say may have scared off the attacker.

The incident took place at around 5:30 p.m. yesterday at Place de l’Europe, in the heart of Bordeaux.

After she and the elderly woman entered the house, the man snuck in and jammed his leg in the door to prevent it from closing, then violently flung them into the street.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested a few hours later by members of the city’s anti-crime squad.

According to a source familiar with the case at France’s CNEWS, the detainee is a homeless Frenchman born in 1993.

He was well known to police with about 15 previous convictions.
