Chilling audio footage shows how exhausted the killer was as he uttered the seemingly innocent commands – while his wife Angie White lay dead in the bedroom.

Police were able to use this data to piece together a timeline of events from the night the 45-year-old was murdered.

The horror has now been explored in the Discovery+ show Deadliest Families.

Angie moved to Swansea with daughter Molly in 2010, where she met White, who was ten years her junior.

At first he seemed like a loving partner who doted on the mother, but soon cracks began to appear and the previously introverted Angie became withdrawn when isolated by White.

Behind closed doors, daughter Molly was forced to listen to her stepfather repeatedly berate her mother during arguments.

While Angie’s sister Laura tells the show: “She had a black eye at one point, and I’m sure she even used the ‘I walked in the door’ cliché.”

In 2014, White was jailed for assaulting his wife after strangling the mother and breaking her jaw.

While in jailhe was also accused of raping and assaulting other women and given an extended sentence of ten years.

Angie’s family believed that prison time would save the mother as she gradually started to put her life back on track.

She enrolled in college to study humanities because she wanted to help others “improve their lives.”

But White’s control over her proved too strong and she continued to visit him in prison – believing that he too would change his life to become a better husband.

In May 2021, White was released and moved back into the family home with Angie and Molly.

But it wasn’t long before his mask began to slip and he returned to his previous violent behavior towards Angie.

Desperate, Molly left while her mother began secretly plotting her own escape route.

Molly said: “They were arguing around me and then they got me involved.

“I would stay with my partner and mum would message me to come home, she doesn’t feel safe, she would ask if she could sleep in my bed.

‘It was too much for my own mental attitude healthso I had to leave.”

She’s in the house, she’s dead. I strangled her and slit her throat. She is dead.

White’s chilling 999 call

Angie planned to move in with her best friend Nic Evans and in the meantime installed a lock on her own bedroom door to protect her from her husband.

But on October 22, 2022, the controlling White kicked through the lock and strangled the terrified Angie.

He then went downstairs and grabbed a Stanley knife, which he used to slit Angie’s throat.

White called 999 about three hours later and said: ‘She’s in the house, she’s dead. I strangled her and slit her throat. She is dead.

“We had an argument and she locked the door and said she wanted me out.

‘All I wanted to do was pack my things and leave. “I just silenced her, I strangled her, I ran downstairs and slit her throat to make sure she was dead.”

While collecting evidence, the police discovered the voice The couple’s commands at the time of the murder were stored in the Cloud Amazon Alexa.

Snapped by Alexa

At 3:03 a.m., Angie had asked the device to turn down the volume, and at 3:16 a.m. White said, “Alexa Stop.”

Chilling, he turns on the device in the living room, where he sounds out of breath.

It was determined that this was when White went to get the knife after strangling his wife.

He then returns to the bedroom at 3.18am, where he tells Alexa to “turn on the electric light” before telling her “Alexa, turn off the TV” a minute later.

This means that there was a 13-minute period where White burst through the door, strangled Angie, and then slit her throat.

DS Gillon Neal, from South Wales Police tell the show: “We were able to track his movements throughout the house and exactly what time it was.

“It was a gold mine of information to give us a story of exactly what happened in those few minutes.

“What we think Daniel did to Angie would have been physically strenuous, so if he had been out of breath that would have been what you would have expected.

“It just sounds like he can’t get anything else out considering how out of breath he sounds.”

Angie’s sister Laura branded killer a ‘coward’ after he refused to face heartbroken family court.

While Molly added: “It’s hard knowing he was a second dad to me.

“Not only was he about to take someone’s life, he was able to take the love of his life, but someone he looks at like a daughter, he just took their mother away as well.”

The family now tries to move on and remember Angie as the kind-hearted, bubbly person she once was.

Molly even likes her mother’s ash in her car so she can be with her wherever she goes.

She said: “We used to go and look at waterfalls, so my plan is to sprinkle her a little bit in each waterfall so she can go around the world.”
