Teenage girl is killed when a car driven by a 14-year-old crashes into a truck on the Hume Highway after a car is stolen from a driveway in ‘every parent’s worst nightmare’

A 15-year-old girl has been killed in a horror crash when the stolen car she was in – driven by another teenage girl – collided with a lorry in rural Victoria.

A 14-year-old girl was behind the wheel of a Holden Captiva that collided with a lorry on the Hume Highway in Locksley at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The teenager behind the wheel suffered upper body pain in the accident and was flown to hospital.

The 15-year-old, who was in the front seat, died at the scene.

A 12-year-old boy who was also in the car has been taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

Victoria Police said in a statement: “Police are currently on the scene investigating the circumstances of the collision and the investigation is ongoing.”
