A desperate warning has been issued to men looking to spice up their sex lives with misleading over-the-counter 'natural' supplements.

The Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) on Monday issued a safety advisory on seven types of Viagra alternatives due to their potentially dangerous undeclared ingredients.

The male enhancement pills were found to contain sildenafil – the active ingredient in Viagra, as well as tadalafil and vardenafil, both of which combat erectile dysfunction.

These powerful, prescription-only ingredients can cause a range of health problems.

Darwin man David Richardson discovered this after taking the supplement Pit Bull Super and accidentally exposing himself to a teenage girl at a Hungry Jack drive-thru last year.

Bullblood tablets, Excite for her tablets, Kamasutra herbal jelly for him bottle, Commander Stamina Time tablets, Kamasutra Herbal Jelly for him, Tantra Jelly and Throb Herbal supplement tablets were all found to be of the same pharmaceutical grade as 'Pit Bull Super'. '.

The TGA tested a number of sexual health pills in connection with an 'ongoing investigation' which found some brands lied about ingredients.

“The products were found to contain the undeclared substances: sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil,” the watchdog said in a statement.

'They pose a serious risk to your health and should not be taken. These substances can cause serious side effects in combination with other medications.

“Consumers are advised that these substances are prescription-only drugs in Australia and the supply of these products is illegal.”

The watchdog added that the products it seized were 'possibly counterfeit' subsequent laboratory testing yielded inconsistent results.

Mr Richardson rose to national fame on January 24 after it was revealed he had accidentally flashed a 16-year-old Hungry Jack's employee while waiting for his erection to go away in September.

He had the sexual enhancement drug prior to attending an orgy with 'friends' at a local hotel the day before his fateful food run, and its effects had not yet worn off.

Pit Bull Super is advertised as a 'natural formula', but it has also been found to contain sildenafil and tadalafil.

The drug is not approved by the TGA.

After attending the orgy, Mr. Richardson said his erection felt like it was about to explode and it had become too painful to touch, so he left to get Hungry Jack's instead.

After attending the orgy, Mr Richardson said his erection felt like it was about to explode and it had become too painful to touch, so he left to get food.

He drove home and grabbed a towel before continuing Hungry Jack's where the workers could still see what he was trying to hide.

'I honestly didn't think so [Hungry Jack’s] workers would see me,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

'The pill was much too strong. I'm surprised it's legal to sell that stuff, and I was in a lot of pain.

“I tried not to show myself to anyone. I just wanted to get some food and go home.”

The case was heard in Darwin Local Court after the worker said she was 'reduced to tears' and 'traumatised' as a result of the incident.

Judge Therese Austin accepted Richardson's eye-watering story about his Viagra overdose and ruled that there was no “sexual” intent when he accidentally exposed his genitals to the girl working at the drive-thru.

Mr Richardson said he had to 'rest' for several days after the effects of the 'super Viagra' wore off.
