A WOMAN has been left mortified after discovering her husband’s GoFundMe page used to raise money for him to take part in a daring sporting event.

She moaned that he’s “asking people to fund his midlife crisis” for an “extreme” sport he’s never tried out for or trained for.

According to her, it is “one of those things that rich men with too much money are known to do” – something her boyfriend is far from.

So much so that he is asking for donations from friends and family via social media so he can participate.

The red-faced woman took to the Mumsnet forums to criticize her partner and “rant” about his “embarrassing” antics.

“He has become obsessed and this is all he talks about – at least for the past three weeks,” she wrote.

“Before it was smaller, cheaper sports that he played once or twice, bought all the equipment and then never talked about it again.

“Our shed has bicycles, sports rackets, golf clubs, air rifles, model cars – you get the idea.”

But it’s not just his inability to nail down one hobby that has the woman’s cheeks burning.

She feels even more mortified after unearthing his GoFundMe page to raise money to “finance his midlife crisis.”

“I didn’t know anything about it until I saw it on social media,” she continued. “Of course he is at about 1% of the total he needs.

“I honestly can’t explain the physical reaction I had to this.

“I could put my head under my pillow and not get out.

“I’m so embarrassed that he’s sharing this about five times a day to try to convince people to donate.”

The doting wife has tried to encourage her husband to organize events or seek sponsorship from big companies instead of begging on social media, but claims “it has fallen on deaf ears”.

“He tells people all the money he needs will go to charity, but realistically he’s asking people to fund his midlife crisis,” she moaned.

“And because of the small number of donations, everyone knows that.

“To make matters worse, this is an extreme event and he is raising money before he starts training for a sport he has never tried before.”

Fellow Mumsnet users were quick to comfort her, confirming that they would “die of shame” if it was their partner.

“This is awful, I’m not surprised you’re cringing,” one person consoled.

“My vagina just closed,” another joked.
