Dilshan Madushanka cleans bowls Rohit Sharma on second ball | Watch VIDEO

Mumbai: Sri Lanka pacer Dilshan Madushanka made a clean bowl of India captain Rohit Sharma with the second ball during his opening over in the ODI World Cup match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Rohit was heading towards the mark with a boundary but on the second ball it looked like the India captain failed to judge the ball and got out.

The video of Rohit Sharma’s dismissal has gone viral on social space and here is the clip:

Earlier, Sri Lanka skipper Kusal Mendis won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in a crucial league match of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium here on Thursday.

Mendis said they think second strikes will be better on this field. “The players have done well in a few matches and are giving the best of themselves. Three important games for us,” Mendis said at the toss.

Sri Lanka have made one change to the team that lost to Afghanistan in Pune a few days ago, bringing in Dushan Hemantha in place of Dhananjaya de Silva.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said he would have batted first if he had won the toss.

He said it was a good delivery and gave the bowlers some assistance at the start. “It will be fun for our seams to bowl under lights. It is a great honor to captain India in the World Cup where I grew up. As a team, we strive to get better in whatever way we can. Of course it is important that we do not get carried away and that it is important to stay balanced. We are playing the same team,” Rohit said after the toss.
