In December 2023, Jacqueline Fernandez filed a plea seeking dismissal of the case filed against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Rumors are doing the rounds that Jacqueline Fernandez was dating alleged con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

In a turn of events, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes has withdrawn the petition she filed against alleged con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to a report by News 18, the plea in which Fernandes accused con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar of using the media to tarnish her image has been deleted. She had also accused him of intimidation and asked the court to initiate legal proceedings against him.

In December 2023, the actress approached the Delhi High Court in a Rs 200 crore extortion case involving alleged con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In Fernandes' plea, the actress requested the court to dismiss the case filed against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Further, the actress said that the allegations against her were fake and that she was cheated by Sukesh.

“The petitioner is an innocent victim of Sukesh Chandrasekhar's malicious attack. There is absolutely no indication that she had any involvement in helping him launder his allegedly ill-gotten wealth. Therefore, she cannot be prosecuted… under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act,” the petition said as quoted by NDTV.

Jacqueline Fernandez has been prominent in the ongoing extortion case, in which she appears as a suspect and has faced multiple interrogations by the Enforcement Directorate. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that she received gifts arising out of the alleged extortion of Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh.

Several rumors claimed that Sukesh, who is currently behind bars in Delhi's Mandoli Jail, was in a romantic relationship with Jacqueline. Several photos of the duo also went viral on the internet. However, the actress has time and again denied any kind of romantic relationship with him.

Earlier this week, Jacqueline drafted another letter to the Delhi Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) accusing the scammer of harassment. Part of Jacqueline's letter read: “A man identifying himself as Sukesh is a suspect, behind bars in Mandoli jail and threatening her with intimidating tactics in public domain.”

“These actions not only violate my individual rights; they go to the core of our legal system. The principle of witness protection, which is fundamental to the administration of justice, has been compromised, undermining the credibility and effectiveness of our legal institutions. It is imperative that all channels of communication available to the accused are scrutinized and stringent measures are taken to prevent further misuse,” it added.
