JAIDON ANTHONY has paid tribute to his late mother after scoring a goal in the FA Cup.
The Bournemouth loanee lost his mother Donna last week and returns to the base in Leeds for the first time since her death.
Anthony put Leeds 1–0 up against Plymouth in their FA Cup fourth round tie with a goal in the 31st minute.
And after completing the win over Plymouth keeper Conor Hazard, Anthony took off his jersey to reveal a t-shirt paying tribute to his mother.
The shirt read: “Rest in perfect peace mom.”
The moving moment saw Anthony's fans and teammates come together to support the winger.
Although referee Lewis Smith ensured that the rules were strictly adhered to despite the circumstances, Anthony handed out a yellow card.
Fans were outraged by the decision and took to social media to express their opinions.
One wrote: “Great moment, well played Jaidon Anthony. Shocking to see he was booked for taking off his shirt in this situation.”
While another added: “Jaidon Anthony was absolutely on fire with that goal. The referee should also break the rules and not book him for that.”

A third wrote: “Jaidon Anthony literally made me cry, that was so perfect (and worth a stupid yellow card)”
Anthony's Bournemouth teammate Dominic Solanke also paid tribute to the 24-year-old's mother with a t-shirt as he scored for the Cherries against Swansea on Thursday evening.
The Premier League star was also shown a yellow card for his tribute.
