Katrina Kaif is still part of Jee Le Zaraa; Priyanka Chopra leaves due to busy schedule: report

Earlier this week, some reports circulated suggesting that Priyanka Chopra had to leave the movie due to a clash in the shooting schedule of Citadel season 2 and Jee Le Zaraa.

In recent days, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the star cast of Farhan Akhtar’s anticipated project, Jee Le Zaraa. The film, which previously made headlines for its stellar cast of Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra, is now making headlines for entirely different reasons. Speculation was rife that Katrina Kaif also walked out of the film after Priyanka Chopra pulled out of the venture. While the makers have yet to officially announce whether the Citadel actress has walked out of the film, reports have surfaced suggesting that Katrina is still a part of the film.

Jee Le Zaraa: Priyanka Chopra Retires

According to a Hindustan Times report, Priyanka Chopra has indeed left the film, but Katrina Kaif remains part of the cast. Earlier this week, some reports circulated that Priyanka had to leave the film because the filming clashes with the second season of Citadel. The portal quoted a source as saying, “Priyanka was unable to fix the shooting dates in 2023 due to her commitments in Hollywood and she asked Farhan if they could shoot for Jee Le Zaraa next year. While Farhan was fine with it, Alia Bhatt is already committed to shooting in 2024 for Ramayana and Baiju Bawra, so that didn’t work out.

“It is true and a very unfortunate development that Priyanka Chopra will no longer be able to make the film, but there is no bad blood between her and the team,” the source added.

Speaking about the claims that Katrina Kaif has also pulled out of the film, the source said they are unfounded. ‘There’s no truth in it. It’s a project that will definitely be made because it’s very close to both Farhan and Zoya,” the source says, adding, “Katrina is still on board and hasn’t run away. She has a close relationship with both Farhan and Zoya after she did Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. It is therefore out of the question that she will leave the project without a concrete reason. At the moment, she belongs to the leading cast. And the concerns that the film will be shelved are irrelevant.”
