The 74-year-old monarch appeared in high spirits as he hosted President Alar Karis, 65, at his residence in Berkshire.

The royal family typically looked smart in a gray suit that he paired with a white shirt and pale pink tie.

Alar also looked smart in a navy blue suit and gray tie as he was warmly greeted by the king.

Alar was elected President of Estonia with a two-thirds majority of 72 votes and took office in October 2021.

The election drew criticism and calls for electoral reform due to the absence of opposing candidates.

The reception comes just three days after the royal family flocked to celebrate the King’s official birthday at Trooping the Colour.

Yesterday, the King and Queen waved to the crowd as they attended a service of the Most Noble Order of the Garter at Windsor Castle.

Monday’s ceremony was Charles’ first service to the Order of the Garter, Britain’s oldest order of chivalry since he became king, and marked the official installation of two new members.

Former Labor Minister Catherine Ashton was made a Lady Companion, while Chris Patten, Hong Kong’s last governor, became a Knight Companion.

Thousands of members of the public gathered in the castle grounds to watch the procession arrive at St George’s Chapel.

Members of the Order in attendance included former Prime Ministers Sir Tony Blair and Sir John Major, as well as the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Princess of Wales was also in attendance, sharing a smile with William as the procession passed by.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla arrived with Charles and could be seen clinging to her hat as the wind rose around her.

The Duke of York, who is a member of the Order, was not present.

Meanwhile, two other members of the Order, Lord Shuttleworth and Lord Luce, were named to the Order of Service but were unable to attend.

After the service, a procession of four Ascot Landau carriages carried off members of the royal family who waved to the crowd as they passed.
