Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar ran through my memory and remembered working with it Shah Rukh Khan And Kajol in his directorial debut Cough Cough Hota Hai. During the making, Karan revealed that he once surprised his father Yash Johar by secretly filming the lead actors for a crucial scene in the film. The shot true Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) reunion was secretly filmed without informing the duo. Karan reveals the backstory behind this iconic shoot.

Talking to Film Companion, Kara said, “I explained the scene to them (Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol) and I played a song for the atmosphere. They both came into the recording and performed the sequence as told. However, before the training started, I instructed my DOP Santosh to keep the camera rolling. When we were done, I said cut. “Now we’ll do the take?” Shah Rukh asked. I told him, “No, we rolled.” He was surprised.
Karan further explained what his father’s reaction was. “Beta tu ghar jaa aur soja,” my father said. (Son, all you have to do is come home and sleep.) “Don’t worry about anything,” he said.

Karan recalled doing something similar on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. He added, “Ranveer and Alia have fantastic conversation chemistry. They fill each other’s gaps when necessary, speak over each other when necessary, two actors… so in sync with each other that it only happens when it happens.”
After noticing the chemistry between the two, Karan realized he could opt for some continuous length shots where Rani (Alia Bhatt) explains why they can’t marry each other and Rocky (Ranveer Singh) reveals his statement: ‘Handle with care I am vulnerable.”
Karan added towards the end, “It just happened organically, that one shot was so perfect that we finished at 1pm. We had no further plans for the day. When I called to pack, I got a frantic call from Apurva saying you haven’t filmed all day. “I said to myself, ‘I didn’t have to, what do I do?'”
