Lionel Richie delivers hits All Night Long in Chepstow, Wales as part of European tour

Lionel Richie continued his busy touring schedule with a show at Chepstow Racecourse in Chepstow, Wales on Friday night.

Known for the party atmosphere of his show, the recent Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee lived up to that description once again by offering many of his timeless mega hits and sing-along classics.

The icon sang solo classics like Say You Say Me, All Night Long and Hello, as well as songs from his time with the Commodores, who is known for songs like Brick House, Easy and Three Times A Lady.

The venue for Friday’s show in Wales – which can hold up to 30,000 fans – is just the last of the iconic musician’s summer tour that will see him tour Europe until July 8.

After going home for almost a month on vacation, Richie will begin his co-headlining tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in early August.

The 74-year-old Tuskegee, Alabama, took to the stage at Chepstow Racecourse looking slim and fit in black jeans and a matching shirt under a bright red sequin jacket.

He wasted little time breaking out the first of many hit songs with Running With The Night, which is from his wildly popular second studio album, Can’t Slow Down (1983).

The song peaked at number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 in early 1984.

Wearing a big, beaming smile as he commanded the stage, Richie is fully aware that many of his fans come to his shows expecting to hear as many of his hits as humanly possible.

Richie’s tour will then take him to Lytham St Annes, England, where he will take the stage at the Lytham Festival on Saturday 1st July.

After performances in Montreux, Switzerland and Marbella, Spain, Richie will conclude his run in Europe with a concert in Cascais, Portugal on July 8.

After a nearly month-long hiatus, Richie will hit the road again for the Sing A Song All Night Long Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, kicking off August 4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Richie – who is a father of three, including celebrity daughters Nicole and Sofia Richie – was very excited to announce at the end of March that he was teaming up with the R&B and funk legends for a string of 20 dates.
