The BJP on Friday announced 14 candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha elections and the sole seat in Puducherry.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: The BJP The fourth list of candidates for the upcoming edition was released on Friday Lok Sabha pollsin which candidates for 14 seats are announced Tamilnadu and the sole seat of Pondicherry. According to the list, the saffron party has fielded Puducherry Minister A Namassivayam on the only Lok Sabha seat in the union territory.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: BJP candidate for Puducherry

On Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its third list of nine candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

In its third list, the saffron party has allotted 10 seats to the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), while also leaving some seats for smaller partners.

The BJP has fielded Tamil Nadu unit chief K Annamalai from Coimbatore, while Union Minister L. Murugan will contest the polls from Nilgiris, the list said.

The ruling party also appointed former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan from Chennai South and ex-union minister Pon Radhakrishnan from Kanniyakumari, whom he represented in 2014.

PMK-BJP alliance

Earlier this week, the BJP signed a seat-sharing agreement with the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. BJP’s state unit chief K Annamalai and founder of PMK Dr. S. Ramadoss made the pact official at the latter Thailapuram at home Villupuram.

According to the agreement that the parties have agreed upon, the PMK will contest for ten seats in the state, the two parties had said in a statement.

“PMK will fight from 10 seats Tamilnadu in the confidentiality,” Annamalai told reporters at a joint press conference with PMK president and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Anbumani Ramadoss.

The two leaders emphasized that the PMK has been in the NDA for the past decade and fought the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls as part of the BJP-led bloc.
