Louis Vuitton launches luxury baby range, including £875 teddy bear and £61,000 monogrammed wardrobe
Louis Vuitton has been criticized for its latest luxury range for babies, including a £1,140 rattle and an £875 teddy bear.
The French fashion house has released its first baby collection in time for Christmas, and is suitably tailored to the colder months.
The brand has added luxury to typical baby items — and a few zeros to the price tag. Babies can rock a silver Louis Vuitton rattle for £1,140, with the classic monogram stamp on the bottom.
If parents like the sound of the collection, they best be quick, as the rattle appears to be sold out online.
Despite the apparent popularity of the brand’s latest release, members of the public have taken to social media to criticize the collection and its staggering price tags.

Elsewhere, the brand has taken the classic teddy bear – and literally added its own stamp.
The Louis Vuitton monogram is embroidered in the 100 percent cotton material of ‘Louis’ the bear.
Customers can get their hands on the bear, which features leather pads on its ‘paws’, for £875.
At the top of the range is a £61,000 baby wardrobe, which is modeled on a classic brown leather suitcase from Louis Vuitton.
The item, which also features in Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Christmas Gift Guide for Kids, transforms into a standalone wardrobe when opened, featuring small drawers, compartments and a mirror.
According to Louis Vuitton, the wardrobe is a reinterpretation of one of their most favorite products: ‘The Garderobe’, which was first created in 1875.
Despite the staggering price tag, the suitcase is said to last a lifetime as owners can reuse the item.
The brand – known for its leather suitcases – has also released a mini suitcase for babies.
For £1890, the suitcase is again covered in Louis Vuitton logos, along with a cotton exterior and leather trim.
In addition to clothing items, the range also includes a luxury pillow and blanket for € 1,610 together and a porcelain cutlery set for € 950.

Elsewhere, the designer brand has even welcomed utensils to the range, with a £950 gold porcelain set including a bowl, mug and plate, each decorated with monogrammed flowers.
In addition, a solid silver spoon has also been presented for £285.
To match, parents can purchase a silver cup for £805, which can be engraved for a personal touch.
However, the collection has caused division among social media users, with many concerned about the price tag.

A third said: ‘There will be a new arrival in August. I have just received a marketing email from Louis Vuitton recommending their baby range. This little suit costs £900. NINE HUNDRED POUNDS!!
“Uhh… no. My brain cells are not outnumbered by my teeth.”
A fourth commented: “Louis Vuitton now has a range for babies,” a long one with a laughing crying emoji.
A fifth took a different view, saying: ‘It’s sooo cute. I want that Meli-Melo blanket for my firstborn.”
