Jewish American army officer quits his intelligence agency job in protest over Biden’s ‘unqualified’ support of Israel

A Jewish American army major has resigned in protest of US support for Israel‘ethnic cleansing’ of Palestinians that has starved and killed ‘tens of thousands of civilians’.

Major Harrison Mann told CBS that Israel’s response to the October 7 attack has “turned the entire world against itself” and endangered the security of both Jews and Israel.

The Defense Intelligence Agency analyst tendered his resignation in November as casualties mounted Gaza after the invasion of Israel, and spoke out on Tuesday when he formally resigned after thirteen years.

“I am convinced that it is certainly a form of ethnic cleansing,” said Mann, whose grandparents fled the anti-Semitism of Eastern Europe.

“I don’t know how you can accidentally kill 35,000 civilians.”

“At some point, whatever the justification, you are either promoting policies that enable the mass starvation of children, or you are not,” he wrote.

Mann, who served in the DIA’s Middle East bureau, struck Joe Biden“almost unqualified support for the government of Israel,” and said his own contribution had caused him “incredible shame and guilt.”

“And I want to make it clear that as a descendant of European Jews, I grew up in a particularly brutal moral environment when it came to the subject of bearing responsibility for ethnic cleansing.”

Six U.S. government officials are known to have resigned in protest at U.S. support for the war, but dozens of State Department agents have signed “dissent cables” expressing their anger at U.S. policies.

Digits for quantity killed in Gaza are provided by the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health and have not been independently verified.

But Israel has refused to give a figure for the number of civilians killed, claiming that 15,000 of the dead were Hamas fighters.

The House of Representatives voted on Tuesday in favor of a bill that would impose sanctions on the population International Criminal Court (ICC) after it threatened arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leaders for war crimes.

Thousands of children are believed to be among the 36,000 currently estimated to have been killed in Israel’s eight-month assault on Gaza.

Neither Israel nor the US are among the 122 countries that recognize the ICC and Biden denounced the court’s move as “outrageous” and insisted that there is “no equivalence – none – between Israel and Hamas.”

More than a million people have now done so fled from the southern Gaza city of Rafahthe UN said on Monday as Israeli forces entered Hamas’ last stronghold.

Biden warned Israel last month that an all-out attack on the city would be a threat red line for the White House and could halt the supply of assault weapons.

“If they invade Rafah, I will not supply the weapons,” the president told CNN on May 9.

Mann published his resignation letter last month after the White House pledged that the US would continue arming Israel despite a State Department report concluding that the country had violated international humanitarian law.

“The past few months have presented us with the most horrific and heartbreaking images imaginable,” he wrote.

‘And I have not been able to ignore the connection between those images and my duties here.

“This unconditional support also encourages reckless escalation, threatening a broader war.”

“They are not responding in a way that is productive for the security of the State of Israel or of Jews worldwide.

“I don’t think this is in the spirit of ‘never again.’

“If you are someone who is truly motivated by the concern to protect Jewish life, then you should fight for it [Israel] to finish the war, to wage it in a way that doesn’t actually turn the entire world against them.

“That is not good for Israel’s security in the short and long term.”

The DIA said in a statement: “Employee dismissals are a routine matter at DIA, as they are at other employers, and employees resign for a variety of reasons and motivations.”

Major Harrison set out his ideas in a letter of resignation to his colleagues
