A man has admitted murdering a ‘beautiful’ mother who was found dead at home after neighbors heard screams.
Charlene Mills, 43, was discovered at the property in Gorton, Manchesterwhen Police were called to care for well-being.
Peter Pitt now faces life in prison after pleading guilty manslaughter.
The 52-year-old has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing by Manchester Crown Court on May 24.
Mother of one was Charlene pronounced dead at the scene on September 30 last year.
A local resident told how they heard ‘screaming’ from the house at around 11.15am – just before officers arrived.
They added: “It was crazy, there were police everywhere.
“There were people outside crying, which I think are the woman’s family. It was really sad and depressing.”
Charlene’s family paid tribute to the mother, who was described as “beautiful inside and out”.
A statement added: “We are so deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Charlene. She was beautiful inside and out and had a personality that brought a smile to the faces of everyone who knew her, no matter the situation.
“Charlene, or Char as we all knew her, was the most perfect daughter and big sister to Amber. She loved being a mother and idolized her son Rydell and dog Boxer. She was strong-willed, kind and sassy and overcame so many obstacles in her life.
“The world just won’t be as nice without her, and our fond memories of Char are the only small comfort we have.
“We are heartbroken and continue to come to terms with this devastating news. We are extremely grateful for the messages of support and for those who paid their respects by laying flowers.”
Greater Manchester Police has referred itself to the police professional standards department due to “previous contact”.
