MANCHESTER UNITED stars believed Erik ten Hag will be sacked in the summer, according to reports.

It is understood Ineos will reassess Ten Hag’s position in the summer, with new CEO Omar Berrada and new sporting director Dan Ashworth likely to have a say in his future.

Gary Neville claimed the pair are likely to make a decision soon – if they haven’t already.

He said: “If you look at the man [Berrada] who has joined from City as CEO and they clearly want to bring in Dan Ashworth from Newcastle – they are going to make a decision [On Ten Hag’s future]I think, pretty soon, if not already.

“I suspect that Jim Ratcliffe and Dave Brailsford already know whether they will keep Erik ten Hag as manager next season. I can’t believe they will wait until May to make that decision and then sell themselves short.

“What Manchester United have been caught doing in recruitment over the last decade, both on and off the pitch, is making bad decisions, late decisions and not being ahead of the game. I don’t think they’re going to do that.

“To me, I suspect they’ve probably already come to a conclusion. It could even be whether it’s Champions League or not, they will stand by that decision.”
