Imphal: The Manipur government will introduce a grading system for the Class 10 examination from this year. No division or rank will be assigned in the grading system for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Class 10) examination, said the statement issued on Thursday was issued by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Elangbam Sonia, PTI reported.

No division/rank will be awarded for the Manipur Class 10th board exams

“In the marking system being introduced, no overall marks/sums will be displayed in the document, no division/rank will be assigned and only pass/fail will be printed,” the statement said. Students receive a grade of A1 for those who score 91 to 100. Students get A2 for those who get 81 to 90. E1 is awarded for those with 21 to 30 points and is considered insufficient together with E2.

“The government felt that while competition among students is good to improve one’s performance, it is necessary to ensure that it does not lead to stress or completely discourage a minor,” the government said, adding that “the grading system reduces stress and burden on the minor.” the students help them to learn with less stress without being too competitive at their age”.

At least 37,715 students, including 18,628 female students, will appear for the entrance exam to be held at 154 exam centers from March 15 to April 8, an official told news agency PTI.
