Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan welcomed a new member to the family on Friday when they adopted a new puppy.

Former TOWIE star Mark, 36, posed for a sweet photo while holding a chihuahua pet in his hoodie pocket.

The former footballer shared the photo on his Instagram profile and jokingly wrote: ‘… I wanted a Doberman.’

I talk to Fearne Cotton about her Happy place podcast, Michelle revealed the effort it takes to keep her relationship thriving while on the road.

When Fearne asked the former Coronation Street star what makes her and the former TOWIE hunk so compatible, she said making time while traveling is the ‘main key’.

Michelle said: ‘I think we’re just best friends. I think just being friends and having that relationship, we’re really lucky: when I go north, he comes with me if he can, and the same when I go south.

“We’re based in the south, but when we travel we go with each other and I think that really works for us.”

The duo aren’t letting long distances get in the way as Michelle revealed that while she was in Sydney for work in 2022, she was alone for two months before Mark flew out and joined her for six weeks.

Michelle and Mark have been married for almost nine years, which she says “has gone by so quickly.”

The couple’s romance blossomed in 2012 when they met by chance in Dubai while enjoying separate holidays and reportedly fell in love immediately.

They married in 2015 and have been called one of reality TV’s best couples as they have grown from strength to strength while building their careers and homes.

Michelle, who played Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street from 2008 to 2014, also opened up about her latest career change and how that leap, along with her imposter syndrome, left her worried about her future in acting.

But she’s well on her way to a successful career as she gave listeners a hint that her next job will be in February and will last her through the summer.

The actress said she’s excited to get stuck into it, but revealed she still fears she’s not enough.

She said on the show: ‘It’s exciting but I still have the fear. And I’ve said it before: I suffer from imposter syndrome a lot, so I go and do a job and as soon as I finish that job I’m like, “Okay, I’m never going to work again.”

‘You know “that was good while it lasted, that’s it, that’s done for me”. I always have a slight panic, no matter what I have ready, I always have a slight panic.’

Michelle told Fearne about the difficulties of making such a big career change, explaining that she has a very ‘loud mind’ and has difficulty meditating.

She revealed that her “biggest thing” is that she is “always worried about what could go wrong” and is an overthinker.

The actress said: ‘My head is so loud sometimes, the only thing I can describe is that I have a very loud head, that when I try to do these breathing exercises or even try to meditate, I can’t center myself. again, so I have to try to learn how to do that. It is really difficult.’

Despite her ongoing concerns, Michelle revealed that her time on the soap has made her very disciplined, as a one-day shoot for Corrie can involve three different storylines with three directors and cannot be in chronological order.

Her role as Tina has given her the luxury of waiting for roles that are a good fit for her, revealing that when she first read the Brassic script she laughed out loud and found it really funny.

She said she believed if she didn’t get a role it wasn’t meant to be and said she had an eight-month dry spell after leaving the famous evening show.

The soap star said: ‘I feel lucky when I get a job. If a job doesn’t land or there’s a no, I just think “that wasn’t for me” and I move on from that. I don’t take it as a personal attack on me.

“You know what I mean and she’s so positive and I love her energy and she’s been in the industry for years and she just seems very grounded and happy. So yeah, I would probably say she’s someone I look up to and if she can do it, I can do it too.”
