Dame Mary Berry called this incredible property her home from the ages of six to fifteen.

It was during this time that she honed her baking skills in her family's kitchen, making cakes and cookies.

The TV star said goodbye to the house in 1950 when the family moved.

The villa subsequently underwent a huge transformation and was divided into two terraced houses.

The one currently up for grabs for a whopping £2.8 million still has its original name and has only changed hands twice.

It occupies an impressive 4,250 m² of living space spread over four floors.

The six-bedroom gem features three bathrooms and two toilets, including a hall, kitchen, dining room and lounge.

It also has a sitting room, utility room, cellar and various storage spaces.

Moving outside, the property offers a gravel driveway, off-street parking and a garage.

Future owners can enjoy a backyard with a spacious lawn and a heated swimming pool.

This Morning's Dermot O'Leary reveals he has signed up for a major celebrity reality show

Alistair Heather, from Savills, who is selling the property, said: “South Lawn is a beautiful example of a Victorian family home. It is set in large gardens and is spread over four floors. It is as grand as it is elegant and beautiful.

“Inside it has an equally impressive, yet warm and comfortable feel – from the moment you step through the door, it is clear that South Lawn is a much-loved family home.

“With an abundance of period character, including high ceilings, sash windows, arched doorways and a particularly beautiful staircase, it has been significantly extended in recent decades, with a large two-storey extension to the rear, and a swimming pool and garage.”

Dame Mary previously revealed she had spent an “amazing” time at the property.

She recalled taking refuge in the basement during power outages during World War II.

The family devoted a significant portion of the gardens to growing fruits, vegetables and even housing animals during the challenging years of rationing.

Located on College Road, the property is just a few minutes away from renowned schools that Dame Mary attends.

Mr Heather added: “College Road is a coveted location for families, with two of the most renowned schools in the city right on your doorstep.

“Homes rarely become available here and so this Victorian showstopper could cause quite a stir.”

The 88-year-old, now an accomplished food writer and chef, studied catering at the Bath College of Domestic Science.

Finally, at the age of 22, she went to France to attend the renowned Cordon Bleu culinary school.
