Shocking footage has captured the moment a car suffered a T-bone, causing it to end up on its side outside a McDonald’s.

The terrifying accident happened outside the fast food restaurant on Glen Osmond Road in Frewville, in Adelaide’s south-east, last Thursday.

Dashcam footage showed the moment a white Mazda 2 driver stopped on a busy road as they waited to pull into the driveway on the other side of the street.

The driver was crossing during a break in oncoming traffic when a Toyota Camry sedan suddenly crashed into the side of the turning vehicle.

The collision forced the Mazda to mount the curb and overturn in front of the McDonald’s.

The Camry’s hood was immediately destroyed upon impact, with the hood breaking off the front of the vehicle.

Moments before the crash, the Camry’s tires could be heard screeching across the road as the driver desperately hit the brakes.

Footage of the terrifying incident was uploaded to Facebook.

Hundreds of social media users blamed the driver of the Camry, saying it appeared the vehicle was speeding.

“There’s no way Camry was driving the speed limit,” said one social media user.

‘[That] Camry is very far back and covered that distance in about 3 (sic) seconds,” wrote another.

“He was definitely speeding, even after hitting the brakes.”

Others said the driver of the Mazda should take responsibility for the collision because they decided to turn as the Camry approached

“I doubt it was speeding, but even if it was. I [don’t] I think Mazda did the right thing too,” said one social media user.

Some chimed in by urging people to drive according to traffic conditions.

“Faster objects come closer faster… wait, look, drive,” they said.

A South Australian Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the driver of the Mazda suffered minor injuries.

Officers are investigating the incident.
