Arteta 'tells Arsenal he will retire at the end of the season' as Barca eye the Spaniard

MIKEL ARTETA has reportedly told Arsenal he will retire at the end of the season.

That's where Barcelona are reportedly eyeing him as their new boss.

Xavi Hernandez stunned the Nou Camp on Saturday by declaring that he will leave his beloved club this summer.

And according to Sport, Arteta is in Barcelona's sights after reportedly informing Arsenal that he is also ready for a fresh start.

The Spaniard's contract with Emirates runs until 2025.

But Arteta is apparently planning an early departure in June and has told those around him to prepare for it.

The former Arsenal captain took charge in North London in December 2019
