A MAKEUP influencer shared a $6 dupe for a popular $38 Milk Makeup purchase.
He urged viewers to save their money and buy the “gorilla grip” makeup dupe instead.
Alexander (@mualesandro) reviewed a dupe for the $38 Milk Makeup Hydro Grip primer in an Instagram video.
He was thrilled with how affordable it was $6 SheGlam Good Grip Primer that was “better than high-end.”
“If you like Milk’s Hydro Grip, save your money and buy SheGlam’s Good Grip primer instead,” he said.
“They both have that sticky finish that keeps your makeup in place all day, but SheGlam has that gorilla grip that you just can’t beat.”
Alessandro applied each primer to one side of his face and demonstrated their holding power by taping tubes of product to his face.
However, after a few moments the tube on the Milky side fell.
“The finish is identical. The two primers also feel the same before blending into your makeup,” he said.
After applying his makeup, he tested the look under different lighting.

“Girl, it looks ripped off, even in natural light. That’s how you know the makeup is showing,” he joked.
Alessandro checked his makeup after one hour, four hours and ten hours.
After four hours, he noticed his natural oils were peeking through, but the makeup still looked good.
Ten hours later he saw a dramatic difference in the performance of the two primers.
At the end of the day, he noticed that the Milk Makeup side looked “a little greasy.”
“But the SheGlam side barely looked any different than when I first applied it, which is insane,” he said.
