I have a mom bod and I’m done with Spanx, I shouldn’t be ashamed of a wobbly belly

One mom decided she was done with her shapewear for good.

More than just embracing her body, she felt it should be a “crime” to cover her body.

Emily (@thevondyfam) shared the body positive message in a TikTok video.

“I’m at a wedding in the bathroom and I took off my $98 Spanx,” she said.

“I shouldn’t be ashamed of a little shaking around here.”

The mother explained that she refused to be ashamed of what her body looks like after giving birth to healthy children.

“The more we see confident, sexy moms owning their post-baby bodies, the more society will say yes, and more importantly, what a crime it is to cafe this puke,” she said.

“How am I going to shake what my mother gave me if it’s in a cage?

“Honestly, fuck the norm that says women’s bodies should be seamless. No dimples, no rolls, seamless. I’m over it.

“I’m done squeezing into spandex. I can’t breathe and it gives me a stomach ache at the end of the night because they’re literally squishing my organs, all for what?

‘To look thinner? That’s a no for me.’

Her decision to let go of shapewear dramatically improved her experience on the dance floor.

“I’ll leave that thing hanging until the day I die,” she said.

“We no longer need to confine our bodies to meet a standard.

“If you like wearing shapewear then do your thing mom, but if like me you hate shapewear but think you have to wear it then you don’t have to because I’m still a 10 without my shapewear.”

One woman revealed she had a valid reason for wearing shapewear.

“My shapewear is just to prevent thigh burns,” she joked.

Others fully supported her decision.

“For the love of all things good and holy, do not keep the galley in a cage!” said one viewer.
