THIS is the chilling moment a mother accused of murdering her son spun a web of lies against police as medics tried in vain to save the toddler.

Christina Robinson, 30, allegedly inflicted fatal head injuries on three-year-old Dwelaniyah at the family home in Ushaw Moor, Durhamin November 2022.

She is also accused of deliberately burning his legs and buttocks and beating him with a bamboo stick.

Jurors at Newcastle Crown Court was shown body-worn footage of Robinson giving an initial account Police at her home, while attempts were made to revive the child in the next room.

Robinson also heard a 999 call after Dwelaniyah became unconscious in their home in November 2022.

In the video, Christina can be heard saying, “We were just downstairs and he was eating his food, and then suddenly there was something in his eyes and then he went a little limp.

“I didn’t know what was going on. I thought he was messing around because he wasn’t chewing his food very well.

“I didn’t notice it straight away and when I saw him go a little limp I thought I’d take him upstairs and try CPR.

“I was with him for maybe five to 10 minutes.”

When asked by the officer how long Dwelaniyah had allegedly struggled with his foodChristina replies, “I don’t even know. Maybe a few seconds.”

Jurors also heard the call to the emergency services created by Robinson.

During the call, she tells the operator that the boy isn’t breathing and that he was eating and his “eyes just want to go weird and then…”.

She goes on to say that she is doing CPR and is told that an ambulance is on its way.

Prosecutors allege Robinson inflicted fatal head injuries, but she claimed her son choked on a cheese sandwich.

She also said that the Bible told her she could chastise her child.

Jurors heard Dwelaniyah was in Robinson’s sole care while his father – the defendant’s husband – was away from the police. RAF.

She was pregnant at the time after using a sperm donor and was having an affair with a man she met online, the court has heard.

Robinson denies murder and child abuse.

The process continues.
