Mumbai Police imposes traffic rules near Juhu Beach on New Year’s Eve; Check the ‘No Parking’ zones here

Ahead of the rush on New Year’s Eve, the Mumbai Traffic Police has taken several measures to ensure smooth movement of traffic around Juhu Beach. They have imposed ‘no parking’ zones on major roads including Juhu Church Road, Juhu Road, Juhu Tara Road and Vaikunthalal Marg.

Mumbai: To prevent traffic jams and congestion on New Year’s Eve, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued regulatory and prohibitory orders for areas and roads near Juhu Beach from 2 pm on December 31 to 8 am on January 1. While parts of Juhu Church Road, Juhu Road, Juhu Tara Road and Vaikunthalal Marg declared as ‘no parking’ zones.

“A large crowd is expected to gather at various places on the eve of ‘NEW YEAR-2024 CELEBRATION’ especially at Juhu beach, hotels and clubs on Juhu Tara Road,” the Mumbai Traffic Police said in a statement on Friday official statement.

“There will be heavy pedestrian crossings as well as movement of vehicles in large numbers on Juhu Tara Road, Juhu Road, Juhu Church Road and VM Road. Traffic on these roads will therefore drive slowly. It is necessary to issue the following decrees for the regulation and reduction of traffic congestion on the roads mentioned below on December 31, 2023, from 2 p.m. to January 1, 2024, until 8 a.m.,” read further the official statement by the traffic police of Mumbai.

There will be ‘no parking’ for all types of vehicles on Juhu Church Road from Tulip Star Hotel Junction to Balraj Sahani Road (both south and north borders), Santacruz (W), Mumbai and there will be ‘no parking’ for all types of vehicles on Juhu Road from Maharana Pratap Junction to Juhu Koliwada (both south and north borders), Santacruz (W), Mumbai.

As per the official statement, Juhu Tara Road will also have ‘no parking’ for all types of vehicles from Juhu Koliwada Junction to BP Patel Junction (both south and north borders), Santacruz (W), Mumbai.

15,000 police officers man the streets of Mumbai on New Year’s Eve

More than 15,000 police officers, including 2,000 constables, will be on guard from Sunday to Monday to monitor the New Year celebrations, with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy for rowdiness among revelers.

The contingents of police officers will begin police work from sunset on December 31 to sunrise on January 1, manning the streets, beaches, boulevards, shopping malls, grounds, hotels, restaurants, public places and other popular locations for New Year celebrations.

With special emphasis on curbing drunk driving, blockades and random checks of drivers will be strictly enforced. Moreover, CCTV eyes would be on almost all highways and other important roads in Mumbai.

The deployment includes 11,500 policemen/women, over 2,000 constables under the supervision of 22 Deputy Commissioners of Police and 45 Assistant Commissioners of Police, besides local police personnel, according to Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary.
