Mystery as man dies at home after being ‘poisoned’ and another rushed to hospital – two arrested

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of poisoning after a man was found dead in his home.

Police were called by the ambulance service after reports that two men in their 50s were seriously ill at a property in Weeting, Norfolk.

Norfolk Police confirmed in a statement that one of the men was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was taken to West Suffolk in Bury St Edmunds for treatment before later being discharged.

Officers said “further investigations” led to the arrest of two men on suspicion of poisoning yesterday.

A man in his 40s was arrested in Thetford and taken to the Police Investigation Center in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, for questioning.

Meanwhile, a man in his 50s was arrested in Weeting and questioned by officers from the Police Investigation Center in Wymondham, Norfolk.

Police arrived on the scene around 10:30 PM on March 3.

A Home Office post-mortem is now planned for the man who died, with Norfolk Police saying: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”

Both men have been released on bail pending further investigation.
