Nestle has left customers devastated after officially confirming they have discontinued two of their much-loved sweet treats.

The multinational recently confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it had axed Polo Fruits and Polo Gummies in the UK.

An eagle-eyed fan had been walking the supermarket aisles for a while before asking the food giant: ‘Are you still making fruit polo? I haven’t seen them anywhere in the south east of Britain for a while, but I’m told you can still get them in places like Yorkshire.

Nestle responded: ‘Unfortunately our Polo Fruits and Polo Gummies were not as popular as the others in the range and have been discontinued.

“But we will certainly let the team know that you would like to see them again.”

Another user asked: ‘Hey @NestleUKI, I haven’t been able to find spearmint polos in ages.

“Please tell me you didn’t do to them what you did to the fruit ones and the (short-lived but I loved them) gummy ones?”

‘Inventorying a specific product is at the retailer’s discretion, so we recommend asking in-store when stock will be replenished. We hope you can find some soon!’

The user did not give up and started looking for his beloved delicacy in other supermarkets.

And it turned out that another shopper had encountered the same difficulty, but in Cambridge, and found that his local supermarkets didn’t even ‘have cards for them on the shelves’.

This comes after Nestlé left shoppers in mourning for the second day in a row after axing the Animal Bar after 60 years due to ‘low performance’.

It joins the ranks of the fallen with Caramac, which was also pulled from shelves due to poor sales.

Fans of the milk chocolate bar, which has been around in Britain since 1963, are devastated, claiming the food and drink giant has ‘now gone too far’.

A spokesperson told MailOnline that it is ‘being discontinued for the same reason as Caramac: a steady decline in sales’.

“Animal bar has died,” read one solemn note. ‘RIP, you will live on forever. I can not believe it. I want to run to you. I really can’t believe this.’

‘I woke up to the news that the Animal Bar will soon disappear. It brings back fond memories of my childhood, and I don’t know of any other chocolate bar that crunches in the same delicious, satisfying way,” a second added.
