But Nicole Kidman looked unrecognizable as a 16-year-old in the 1983 Australian action film BMX Bandits in a throwback photo.

In the image, the Australian actress, 56, sported wildly curly hair as she sat on a motorcycle alongside her co-stars Angelo D'Angelo and James Lugton.

She looks very different these days as she has replaced her curly locks with straight, long strawberry blonde locks.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning HeraldNicole recalled what it was like working on the film as she celebrates its 40th anniversary.

“I remember having fun, a lot of fun,” she said.

“And when I started, I thought, I'm supposed to be serious [as an actress], but the thing about BMX was: oh, you can have a little fun too. There has to be a game element to it.'

The six-part limited drama series – based on the internationally best-selling novel The Expatriates, by Janice YK Lee. and is set in Hong Kong – premiering on the streaming site on January 26.
