Shocking moment woman pretending to be a beggar steals a coffee shop customer's phone with a cunning distraction trick – before jumping into the road with joy

A brazen thief who posed as a beggar to steal a mobile phone was filmed moments later skipping down the street with joy.

The fake homeless man was filmed walking into a cafe in North Finchley, London and approaching two men.

Dressed in a gray coat and white woolen hat, the fraudster saw that one of them had his phone on the table.

As the female thief started talking to the man and asking for money, she put down a piece of paper.

The sheet, which explained her fabricated condition, covered his phone.

We see her talking to the male friends for twelve seconds before she uses the paper as a veil to slide the cell phone into her hand.

The other man handed a few coins to the woman and she backed away from the table.

She quickly left the coffee shop before the victim realized his phone was missing.

After stealing the phone, the thief was seen dancing down the street and moments later getting into a waiting car outside on Friday, January 26 at 1.50pm.

The Met Police have been contacted.  A local resident of the area said a similar crime had happened to her

The owner of the café has reported the matter to the police.

It is clear that the fake beggar had a female accomplice.

A local resident of North Finchley, Channel Lilley, said: 'This happened to me in Wood Green.'

Another named Bella said, “This is why I don't help people like this anymore.

“I'm just saying, don't leave.”

Kamran added, “This better not happen to me.

“Otherwise, whoever that person is who even thinks about robbing me in some way will not live.”

The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
