Centurion: Virat Kohli reminded us all when he gave a pep talk to the Indian team during the Boxing Day Test at Centurion on Wednesday. All along, it was captain Rohit Sharma who did that, but on Day 2 of the Test, Kohli was seen in that role. That has fans excited and nostalgic. The incident occurred prior to the third session on the second day. Kohli was seen in that role as Rohit was unavailable at that time for some unknown reason. Kohli gave an inspirational speech to motivate his bowlers even though Jasprit Bumrah was officially the stand-in captain.

Elgar, playing his farewell series, scored his 14 Test hundred and first on home ground. For India, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have taken two wickets each so far. Earlier, the visitors rode to 245 on a fine 101 from KL Rahul.
South Africa has the nose ahead and Rahul said batting has become easier. “Today in the morning, when we batted for those 7-8 overs, I felt the wicket had come down a bit. But things can change quickly here and cracks appear.”
