Abhishek Banerjee: Abhishek Banerjee, general secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the party's MP from Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency, on Monday called on people to “remove the lens of religion” and stressed that “the entire Hindustan is in danger ”.

Abhishek Banerjee, addressing a diverse audience at an all-faith gathering in Calcutta, urged people to reject the lens of religion and said: “Some say Hindus are in danger, some say Muslims are in danger. I say: remove the lens of religion and look, the whole of Hindustan is in danger.”

Stressing the importance of voting based on party performance rather than religious affiliations, he said: “Vote for anyone, BJP, Congress, vote not in the name of religion but in the name of work, in name of 100 days money. .

“Today is a proud day for Bengal, while the entire country is engaged in religious programme, the people of Bengal stand together on the road and pray for peace. Bengal is not concerned with religious politics, we have only one religion, and that is: service should be provided to all.”

An all-faith rally (Sanhati rally) was organized in Calcutta on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) said the meeting in Sanhati showed solidarity for all religions.

“Unity is at the core of all religions! Today at the Sanhati rally, massive crowds gathered to express their support for unity of diverse faiths alongside Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee. It was a breathtaking sight as people from different backgrounds marched together and showed their solidarity with all religions,” TMC wrote on X.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the Sanhati rally will cover mosques, temples, churches and gurdwaras along the way.

“Everyone is welcome to participate in the rally. People of all faiths will be present at the meeting,” she said.
