NRL star Tyrell Sloan grew up in housing commission premises with his grandmother in Wollongong, NSW.
And in a stunning change of fortune, the Illawarra Dragons athlete, 21, recently bought his own property for $1.15 million, in his hometown of Wollongong.
The fullback bought the stylish five-bedroom property last month, which has been extensively refurbished to give it a stunning contemporary design.

‘I used to play football here every day after school,’ he said when he visited his parental home again.
He then gave some advice to young people who are working hard towards their goals.
‘Be yourself, nothing is free. Hard work,” he said.
He made his NRL debut in 2021 aged 19, and has since proven to be a formidable full-back for the St George Illawarra Dragons.
