Outrage as woke school principal removes names of two of Britain’s greatest naval heroes from school buildings
A WOKE director has been accused of “erasing history” by removing the names of two of Britain’s greatest naval heroes from school buildings.
Parents were told Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake had ‘less than positive connotations’ in modern times.

Headteacher Louise Simpson said those being cut no longer “represent the values and inclusive nature of the school”.
She is now calling on parents to rename the £17,000-a-year school’s houses after local woodlands, castles or topographical features.
But the change has been rejected by parents and alumni.
A former student told The Sun: “Rather than erasing the school’s history, it is best to let students think for themselves.
“Such Woke Cancel culture makes people doubt the head’s suitability for the job.”
Sir Francis Drakethe first Briton to circumnavigate the world, he is said to have been one of Britain’s first slave traders.
While Sir Walter Raleigh who famously helped defend Britain against the Spanish Armada, was an early colonizer of the Americas.
General Redvers Buller won one Victoria Cross fighting in the Zulu War and was later dismissed as Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces South Africa for failure to destroy Peasant guerrillas.
The other names include philanthropists and benefactors Sir Charles Goff, Sir John Daw, Wilfred Townsend, Hugh Crossing and Elizabeth Dowrich.
