PM Modi will visit Jammu today, inaugurate AIIMS and lay foundation stone of several projects

The laying of foundation stone and inauguration of various projects to strengthen civil and urban infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir will also be done by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister will issue appointment orders to around 1,500 new government recruits from Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi Jammu Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu on Tuesday, February 20, where he will inaugurate the nation, dedicate himself and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 30,500 crore. The projects cover various sectors including healthcare, education, railways, roads, aviation, petroleum and civil infrastructure, among others.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will issue appointment orders to around 1,500 new government recruits from Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the nation, dedicate himself to the nation and lay the foundation stone of several projects worth around Rs 13,375 crore. The projects include the permanent campus of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIT Jammu, IIITDM Kurnool; Indian Institute of Skills (IIS).

He will inaugurate IIM Jammu and 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVs) and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) buildings across the country.

AIIMS Jammu

In a step that will provide comprehensive, quality and holistic tertiary care services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu.

The hospital, established at a cost of over Rs 1,660 crore and in an area of ​​over 227 hectares, is equipped with facilities like 720 beds, 125-seat Medical College, 60-seat Nursing College, 30-bed AYUSH Block, residential accommodation for faculty and staff, hostel accommodation for UG and PG students, night shelter, guesthouse, auditorium, shopping complex etc.

The state-of-the-art hospital will provide high-quality patient care services in 18 specialties and 17 superspecialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, neurology, neurosurgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, endocrinology, burns and plastic surgery. The institute will have an intensive care unit, an emergency and trauma unit, 20 modular operating theatres, diagnostic laboratories, a blood bank, a pharmacy, etc. The hospital will also leverage digital health infrastructure to cover remote areas of the region reaches.
