Syan Vallance has announced her departure from Channel Seven Perth after ten years.

The news reporter revealed on Instagram that she is heading to the network’s studio in Melbourne for a new role.

Vallance shared the news on Wednesday along with a photo of herself posing outside the Perth office on her last day.

She also posted an image of her fitting on her first day at the network, including a photo of her younger self.

‘Last day ➡️ first day. It’s a big opportunity because I ugly cried, but I’m so grateful to have worked in a place that makes leaving so sad. See you in Melbs,” she wrote.

Vallance got her first job at Channel Seven as a reporter for Today Tonight in 2014.

In 2019, she started hosting a weekly podcast on national and international news topics.

She eventually landed a role as a reporter for 7News Perth.

The announcement comes just months after Kendall Gilding shocked fans with the news that she was quitting her role on Channel Seven in December.

In a radio announcement, she hinted at her next steps as she quashed rumors that she was quitting to become a full-time mother to her children Olive, four, and Moses, one – who she shares with her husband Timothy Morgan.

‘Friday is my last day. I read the 6 p.m. news all week. This prayer is not a moment of madness, but rather a radical step of courage,” she said.

‘I am not going to be a stay-at-home mother, I have no intention of leaving the media. Looking forward to a great 2024, ready to work harder than ever! Stay tuned.’

Since then, she has been very active on social media, promoting brands as well as her column for QWeekend magazine.

She started her journalism career in 2011 as a presenter on Brisbane radio station 96five Family Radio and later that year she started working for Seven.
